Dysautonomia is simply the dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system. This includes many different disorders such as postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), pure autonomic failure, vasovagal syncope, mitral valve prolapse, multiple system atrophy/ Shy-Drager Syndrome, and the genetic related familial dysautonomia.
